GreenBack operates the website greenrebatefinder.ca (the "Site"). We are a Canadian-owned and operated service that helps Canadians discover federal, provincial, and utility green energy rebate programs.

Information we collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the Site:
- Information you give us voluntarily: If you submit your email address to receive rebate alerts, we store that email address.
- Information collected automatically: When you visit the Site, Google Analytics automatically collects anonymous data including your general location (country/province level), browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Information you do NOT need to provide: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use the rebate finder tool. Your province, home type, and upgrade selections are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To send you rebate alert emails if you have opted in to receive them
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- To monitor which provinces and upgrade types are most popular so we can prioritize updates
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Cookies & analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous traffic data. Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your browser — to distinguish unique visitors and track usage patterns.
The data collected by Google Analytics includes:
- Pages visited and time spent
- General geographic location (city/province level — not your precise address)
- Device type and browser
- How you arrived at the Site (e.g. Google search, direct link)

Email list
If you choose to sign up for rebate alerts, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you notifications about new or updated Canadian green rebate programs.
- You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing canadarebatesca@gmail.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line
- We will never share your email address with third parties
- We will never send you promotional or advertising emails from other companies
- Email submissions are stored securely through Netlify Forms
Third-party links
The Site contains links to third-party websites including government portals (canada.ca, ontario.ca, alberta.ca, etc.) and utility company websites. When you click these links you leave our Site and are subject to those websites' own privacy policies.
GreenBack is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
Canadian anti-spam law (CASL)
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will only send you commercial electronic messages if you have given us express or implied consent to do so.
If you sign up for rebate alerts through our Site, you are providing express consent to receive those alerts. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at canadarebatesca@gmail.com.
Every email we send includes clear identification of GreenBack as the sender and a straightforward way to unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA — Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request access to your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent for us to use your information
- Request that we delete your personal information
